A 15-year-old boy kicked an officer off his motorcycle on Sunday during a chase in Eindhoven. The shocked police officer tells his story on Instagram on Monday evening. “I did well.”
In disbelief, Officer Hicham Argani looks back at his working day. He wanted to put a moped rider aside because the passenger was not wearing a helmet. He just wanted to give him a warning. However, the duo ran off and so Hicham gave chase.
During the chase, the passenger intentionally kicked Hicham, causing him to fall. “And then a lot of things go through your head. One of those things was that the person responsible had to be caught anyway.”
Hicham didn’t think twice and followed the boys on foot. “After a sprint of several hundred meters I was able to stop the driver,” says Hicham. A fellow officer, meanwhile, picked up the passenger.

Hicham still cannot comprehend what has happened. “It’s hard for me to understand how a 15-year-old could kick a police officer off his motorcycle to avoid being checked. It’s really worrying what we’re facing as a society.”
The boys have been arrested for attempted aggravated assault and public assault. Hicham tries to console himself with positive thoughts: “All kinds of scenarios of how it could have ended are running through your head. But you have to move on. It ended well.”
The agent receives support on social media. One follower writes: “You are a hero to me. Even though you fell with the motorcycle, you still went after the driver.”
