Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer members of
the Royal family.
A few days ago, Prince Harry and his wife had
announced their decision to give up their prominent role within the
Royal family. After this shocking news, the couple decided on Saturday to
renounced their royal title.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will no longer use their title of Royal Highness since they are no longer active members of the family”, Queen Elizabeth II announced in a statement.
Under the new agreement, the couple will no longer receive public funds for royal functions. “As agreed in this new agreement, they understand that they are required to withdraw from royal office, including official military appointments”, said the press release from Buckingham Palace.
Queen Elizabeth noted in a personal statement “that Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members. ”
“I recognize the challenges they have faced following a thorough review in the past two years and I support their wish for a more independent life. I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and I am particularly proud of how Meghan has become so quickly a member of the family. ”she said.

police protection for Prince Harry and his family.
After their decision to resign from their role, Harry and Meghan agreed to reimburse certain public expenses which they benefited from, in particular the sums used to renovate the Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, their place of residence in the United Kingdom.
