The police have received 56 tips about the painting of Vincent van Gogh stolen from the Singer Laren museum. On Twitter, the police report that the tips came in after the theft was treated in the television program Investigation Requested.
In Investigation Requested was shown that the art thief arrived alone on a motorcycle and entered the museum with the help of a sledgehammer. After the burglary, he ran out with the artwork under his arm.
The theft occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 30. The police also announced a day later that they had received various tips. However, these tips did not lead to an arrest. The police also do not know where Van Gogh’s artwork is now.
The stolen work is the painting Spring garden, the rectory garden in Nuenen in the spring (1884), which Singer Laren was on temporary loan from the Groninger Museum.
