Hitekno.com – After sarcastically Apple, Samsung plans to eliminate power adapter and headphones in the Galaxy S21 which are scheduled to be released in 2021, such as from Korean media sites SamMobile.

The news circulated earlier this year and stated that Samsung is considering not completing accessories in future HP models.

However, that decision didn’t stop Samsung from indirectly taunting Apple for selling an iPhone 12 model without a power adapter or EarPods.

The taunts were uploaded by Samsung via their official Facebook account on October 13.

“Your #Galaxy really gives you what you are looking for. From the very basics as a charger, to the best cameras, batteries, performance, memory, and even the 120Hz screen in a smartphone,” wrote Samsung while uploading a black power adapter image, as quoted from MacRumors on Wednesday (28/10/2020).

IPhone 12 models only include a USB-C to Lightning cable. In announcing the changes, Apple said the accessory is being removed for environmental reasons, but there is speculation that Apple is phasing out power adapters and EarPods to cut costs, given the 5G modems used in its new iPhone lineup.

Given that major competitors are no longer offering accessories such as power adapters and EarPods, Samsung may also want to save costs by selling accessories instead of including them in smartphones.

Sources from Korean media predict that the power adapter and headphones could be removed from the entire Galaxy S21 lineup, although it is possible that Samsung will offer a power adapter when removing headphones.

Previously, Samsung had mocked Apple’s design and product decisions before finally doing the exact same thing. When Apple removed the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 in 2016, Samsung went back to making fun of the iPhone before tailing off by removing the headphone jack from the Galaxy S8 in 2018.(Voice.com/Lintang Siltya Utami)
