“He suffered a small fracture in the navicular bone,” confirmed Ducati sports director Paolo Ciabatti in an interview with SPEEDWEEK.com. A screw is used to stabilize the fracture.
Zarco told the French sports daily «L’Équipe»: «I’ll be back in Austria on Thursday for the medical check-up to see whether I can drive over the weekend or not.” The Frenchman wants to rely on medical advice and his feelings.
On Thursday, the Avintia Esponsorama rider will also have to explain his view of the accident to the “FIM MotoGP Stewards Panel”, chaired by Freddie Spencer. Zarco had to take a lot of criticism, but he insisted: “When I braked, Morbidelli was surprised and touched me.
