Austria’s ice hockey association (ÖEHV) has a new president.
Carinthian Klaus Hartmann prevails on Saturday at the General Assembly in Villach against the previous incumbent Gernot Mittendorfer with 133: 121 votes.
After four years in office at Mittendorfer, there is again a change at the top of the association. The Upper Austrian had succeeded long-term president Dieter Kalt in 2016, but now missed re-election.
In the new four-member Presidium, Hartmann Dr. Nicolas Stockhammer, Günther Ropatsch and Mag. Yasmin Sarina Stepina as Vice Presidents. The new arbitral tribunal is made up of Dr. Peter Klumpp, Mag. Hannes Arneitz and Dr. Alexander Tomanek together.

“Our motto for the election was ‘integrate instead of exclude’, and that’s how we want to start over the next four years,” said the newly elected President Dr. Hartmann in a first reaction.
“The whole Austrian ice hockey family is important to us, children, seniors, para ice hockey, top and popular sports. We will have all the discussions that are involved in Austrian ice hockey and that want to lead our ice hockey into a successful future. Every child, regardless of their level, should have the opportunity to practice ice hockey. We want to bring more children to ice hockey through recruiting concepts. “
“Of course it is very important to us to be among the best ice hockey nations worldwide and to play again in the A group for women and men. A matter close to our heart is the federal performance center in Villach and we hope that we can implement this as soon as possible In the next few weeks it will be important for ice hockey that orderly game play will soon be possible again after the corona-related break. “
