After the tragic bathing accident in Trebgast, in which a father died with his four year old daughter the cause of the accident is still unclear. The investigators have carried out an autopsy to clarify the exact cause of death. However, the police could not say exactly when the autopsy should take place.
Swimming lake in Trebgast has no dangerous currents
Meanwhile, Trebgast Mayor Herwig Neumann was shocked. The consternation in the 1,600-inhabitant community is great. Neumann also has no possible explanation for the accident. The Trebgaster bathing lake is fed by a few springs in the lake, but has no dangerous currents or whirlpools.

Two years ago there had been a fatal bathing accident at the Trebgaster swimming lake. In August 2018, a 22-year-old drowned here. So far, there is no evidence of a connection between the two cases.
