After a 13-year relationship: Simon Cowell has proposed to his girlfriend Lauren

Cowell is said to have fallen on one knee on the beach in Barbados during the Christmas holiday. The couple would also have met on that island. Their seven-year-old son Eric and Silverman’s older son Adam were present at the proposal. “It was really super sweet,” said an insider. “They fit really well together.”

The producer and his fiancé have been together for 13 years now. They met in 2004, while Silverman was still married to a close friend of his, property developer Andrew Silverman. Andrew and Lauren split in 2013 after a 10-year marriage. Shortly after the divorce, Cowell and Silverman appeared in public together. Cowell later admitted in an interview that the two had an affair during that marriage. “I’m not proud of it and I certainly didn’t mean to hurt anyone,” he said at the time. “It just happened.”
