TALLAHASSEE, KOMPAS.com – A citizen Florida has managed to materialize dream to catch crocodile a monster in the river behind his house in Blountstown.

For 3 years Corey Capps has dreamed of catching a giant crocodile in the river behind his house. He told me that he and his wife were riding a boat on the Apalachicola River when they saw a crocodile lying on the river bank.

Capps called up his friend, Rodney Smith, who had a state-issued crocodile label allowing them to legally pursue the animal.

“Three times on different occasions, in the last 2 months, I went there fishing and he (the crocodile) was stalking me … So I felt, me and him, something would happen between the two of us,” said Capps. CNN on Saturday (31/10/2020).

The next day on October 13, Smith and Capps went to the river in a 12-foot-tall boat in search of the creature. True, he was in the same place as the day before.

“We went out and attacked him … and we didn’t realize it, we knew he was big, but not as big as when we pulled him over the riverbank. At the top of his head he was 16 inches (40.64 centimeters) wide,” said Capps.

Capps said the crocodile weighed 1,008 pounds (457.2 kilograms), smaller than the Florida state record, but still very large.

“He’s the biggest I’ve ever seen,” said Capps.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said on record for the heaviest crocodile caught in the state was a 1,043 pound (473.09 kilogram) male crocodile from Orange Lake in Alachua County.

The crocodile caught by Capps is more than 13 feet (3.9 meters) long, while the longest male crocodile ever caught there is more than 14 feet (4.3 meters) from Lake Washington in Brevard County.

Capps plans to attach its forelegs and head. The rest is sold to the processing business in Tallahassee.
