New Delhi ∙ There are many challenges facing the police in the case in which the young man killed his partner, cut him into 35 pieces, kept them in the fridge and threw them away several times. Since more than six months have passed since the murder, the police will have to work hard to connect the various facts of the case. The collection of evidence by the police with the defendant Aftab is ongoing. Police recovered 13 bones from the forest where Aftab threw Shraddha’s body parts. Shraddha’s skull has yet to be found.

The recovered bones have been sent to a forensic laboratory for testing to determine if they are from Shraddha. The blood stain taken from the apartment where the two lived was also sent for control. DNA samples from Shraddha’s father were also taken for testing to see if the bloodstain and body parts are the same as Shraddha’s. The weapon used in the murder, other body parts and CCTV footage have yet to be found.

Police are trying to obtain CCTV footage of the nearby area. Most of the area’s CCTV footage is kept for only 15 days. Here, the police need CCTV footage from six months ago. A purse believed to belong to Shraddha was found. But Shraddha’s family should realize this. Shraddha’s cellphone and the clothes worn by Shraddha and Aftab on the day of the murder were recovered. Aftab’s statement said the clothes were thrown into a vehicle that went with the garbage.

Maharashtra Police contacted Aftab after receiving a complaint regarding Shraddha’s disappearance. But Aftab told police that he and Shraddha are not close now. Shraddha also repeated to the Delhi police that she had left the apartment on May 22 and was no longer in contact. On 26 May, transactions of Rs 54,000 were found to have been made from Shraddha’s bank account. This is from the Chhatarpur area where they used to live. Aftab told police that Shraddha left with the phone. Police also found that there was activity on Shraddha’s Instagram account from the same area on 31 May.

The two had been arguing for about a week. Aftab reveals that the dispute over who will pay for the household expenses has resulted in the murder. It is revealed that the dispute over buying household items later escalated into various problems and later that night Aftab allegedly killed Shraddha.
