Alexei Arestovich, an adviser to Zelensky’s chief of staff, said on Facebook that in Mariupol, which was surrounded by Russian invaders, units of the 36th Marine Brigade had broken through as a result of a complex and very risky maneuver to join Azov Regiment.
He called the results of the special operation the following:
– Azov received significant reinforcements;
– The 36th Brigade avoids the defeat of units and gets additional serious opportunities, in fact gets a second chance;
– The defenders of the city, now together, have seriously strengthened their defensive zone.
According to Arestovich, as a result of the unification of the troops, the defense system of Mariupol has grown and strengthened, UNIAN reports.

“This happens when the officers do not lose their heads, but firmly maintain the command and control of the troops. Let’s not lose. The army knows what it is doing,” he wrote.
We remind you that since March 1, Mariupol has been blocked by Russian troops, who created a humanitarian catastrophe in the city and are committing genocide.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny assured that there is a connection between the command and the defense forces in Mariupol and the details of the defense operation should not be the subject of public discussion.
