Adolescents prefer to live without television than without music – Advertising

Enjoyment

The music, that orderly combination of rhythm, melody and harmony that is pleasant to the ears; or television, the remote transmission and reception of images and sounds that simulate movements. If you had to choose only one, which one would you choose? That is the question that respondents have been asked in the Audience Origin (formerly known as LIVE Panel), global survey single-source from Wavemaker, carried out in 54 countries to almost four hundred thousand people.

In this way, it is appreciated that the behaviors of this younger generation are not homogeneous, and evolve in one way or another as they age. Thus, globally, 61% of young people between 13 and 17 years old would rather live without television than without music, a percentage that increases to 73% when the adolescents surveyed are between 18 and 24 years old. Why do they lose interest in television or why does music become a fundamental element in their lives? After all, music has been with humanity for almost 40,000 years, while television has been part of our culture for just under 100 years (January 26, 1926).

But, does the same thing happen in Spain? Well, the figures for Spanish adolescents are very similar to global data. In our country, 59% of young people between 13 and 17 years old would rather live without television than without music (two points below the global mean), while in the range between 18 and 24 years this percentage rises to 78% (five points above the global average). In other words, among Spanish adolescents there is still a greater option for music over television as they get older.
