Adif highlights that the underground works are “very advanced” | Radio Murcia

Adif-Alta Velocity has highlighted that the execution of the Accesses to Murcia and the Underground of the Station / Barriomar, despite being one of the most complex actions that is being carried out at the moment, has “continued its course” in a that “it has not been affected by the current health crisis and” is in a very advanced state.

In a statement, after the Board of Directors of the Murcia High Speed ​​Company, Adif indicates that the progress, as planned, of the actions contemplated in the Agreement for the remodeling of the Murcia Arterial Railway Network has been ratified.

As of June 2020, Adif highlights that a total of 90 million euros have been invested in the actions for the integration of the railway in the city of Murcia, of which 12 million have been invested in the phases of the Station, Barriomar and Nondumernas (phases 1 and 2) and the rest in the Access to Murcia works.

In the case of the Accesses, all the screens have already been executed, practically the entire covering slab and the bottom slab. In relation to the underground works of the Station / Barriomar, the execution of the screens that will make up the future station enclosure has begun, with more than half of them having been executed.

Previously, the lifting of tracks that affect the execution of the screens as well as the removal of the different services affected has been carried out.

The completion of the tunnel excavation phase between Santiago el Mayor and Senda de los Garres, which has an underground length of 1,150 meters, will allow the entry of conventional gauge railway infrastructure and in the future of high speed to the capital Murcian.

In order to avoid additional costs, the importance of fulfilling the commitments acquired by its members has also been stressed, especially with regard to financial contributions pending to be made by the partners.

In this sense, the regional administration has been asked to face the disbursements that Adif-Alta Velocity should make (14.6 million euros), for the execution of phase 0 works, and the company ( 10.5 million euros) for the execution of phases 1 and 2.

Finally, with the aim of continuing to advance, on Thursday June 16 the Technical Committee to monitor the actions for the Integration of the railway in the city of Murcia will be convened.

Once the access works to the city of Murcia are completed, work will continue on the railway integration works in a total area of ​​7.04 kilometers, including the ramps and the areas of the Station, Barriomar and Nonduermas.

The Murcia High Speed ​​Company was created in 2006. It is owned by MITMA, through the public business entities Adif Alta Velocidad (40%) and Adif (10%), by the Murcia City Council by 25%, and the Government Regional with the remaining 25%.
