Added 6,527 New Cases, Died 14

The number of positive COVID-19 cases increased by 6,527, Thursday (4/8/2022). Meanwhile, recovered patients increased by 6,664 cases, died increased by 14 cases. As many as 50,706 active cases were recorded, 125,756 specimens were examined, and 7,222 suspects were observed.

Given that cases are still increasing, the government has decided to extend the implementation of the PPKM to anticipate a potential increase in COVID-19 cases. This time, all regions in Indonesia entered level 1.

Former Director of Infectious Diseases WHO Southeast Asia, Prof. Tjandra Yoga Aditama, spoke about the fluctuating trend of COVID-19 cases. According to him, it is still difficult to determine when the peak of the Omicron BA.5 wave occurs.
