“At the head of Daile Theater there are two completely crazy people with huge ambitions,” says Ieva Segliņa, actress of Daile Theater, about the three years under the leadership of director Jura Žagar and artistic director, director Viesturs Kairiš and the changes that took place during this time. Together with her colleague Dartas Danevičas, in the “Kultūrklubs” program of “Delfi TV”, she tells how important it is for the theater team to climb the mountain together in order to achieve big and very specific goals.
Former Daile Theater actor, businessman Juris Žagars and director Viesturs Kairišs started working under the management of Daile Theater in March 2020, shortly before the announcement of the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic. Both actresses admit that wonderful and significant changes have taken place and are still taking place in the Daile Theater over the course of three years.
As Daneviča emphasizes in an interview on the “Kultūrklubs” program, this change affects many different levels – both the artistic, organizational and domestic cooperation level: “The artistic course is currently something completely unprecedented and with a different scope. The content framework is also of good and high quality means very ambitious, with a big emphasis on the fact that we go for the highest possible quality. On the other hand, at the level of human contact, I am very impressed by the fact that the management has introduced special meeting days. Once a month, the entire team meets and examines issues whose decision has been handed over up to us.”
