Weather forecast, another 2 days with thunderstorms: then high pressure returns over the weekend

Since May 1st, Italy has been reached by a large depression circulation originating in the Atlantic Ocean. A cyclonic vortex is affecting many central European states and the Mediterranean basin. Until Friday there will still be plenty of precipitation and often thunderstorms. After which the pressure will increase again, resulting in a largely stable weekend.

More precipitation and even hailstorms

Going into detail, Thursday the 2nd will probably be the most unstable of the week given that rainfall may affect most regions. They will be less frequent and alternated with more sunny spaces on the central-southern sectors of the Adriatic and on the Major Islands. There will be no shortage of thunderstorms with local hailstorms, while snow will only fall at medium/high altitudes in the Alps and from 1600 meters in the Apennines.

All sunny on Sardinia and Sicily

From Friday the weather will start to improve and so the day will be markedly unstable, meaning there will still be opportunities for precipitation, especially in the Centre-North, but with sunny spells or dry breaks increasingly present. Instead it will be all sunny in Sardinia and Sicily.

Temperatures averaged over the period

This slow improvement in the weather will be further confirmed over the weekend, in fact if on Saturday there will still be local rainfall in the mountains, on Sunday the sun will prevail in all regions. After the decrease on Wednesday 1 May, temperatures will not drop further and will remain roughly on average for the period. This means that it will not be cold, the climate will be mild. From the weekend however, thanks also to the greater sunshine expected, they will tend to increase.

Thursday 2. In the north: highly unstable in all regions. In the center: more showers in Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio, alternating with sunny spells elsewhere. In the south: it worsens in the afternoon in Campania, Puglia and Basilicata.

Friday 3. In the north: rain and sunny spells. In the center: alternating showers and clearings. In the south: mostly sunny.

Saturday 4. In the north: irregularly cloudy skies. In the center: good weather prevailing. In the south: sunny. Trend: stable on Sunday, worsening again from Monday.
