Sad news for British cinema. Comedian John Sessions died on Monday, November 2 at his home in South London at the age of 67. As reported The Independent and his agent, the Scotsman suffered a heart attack on Monday, November 2.
John Sessions had launched his career in the theater, after having taken courses in the 1970s at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. He then appeared in theaters for the first time in 1984, in the film The Bounty directed by Roger Donaldson. Viewers have seen him in many feature films over the years, including Gangs of New-York by Martin Scorsese, State reasons by Robert De Niro or alongside Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady de Phyllida Lloyd.
More recently, he had appeared in the film Legend, worn by Tom Hardy. Viewers had been able to see it during season 8 of the Doctor Who, in the episode titled The Mummy of the Orient-Express. John Sessions had not hesitated over time to assert his disagreement with the Scottish independence project and in 2014 called on citizens to vote to keep the country within the United Kingdom.
