In the famous Bolshoi Theater in central Moscow, an actor has been killed when a piece of scenery fell on him during an opera performance. The accident happened during a change of scenery.
It concerns a 37-year-old actor whose identity has not been released. He played in the opera Sadko by the Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844-1908).
“The opera has been shut down immediately and the public has been asked to leave,” the theater said in a statement. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the actor’s death.
