Actor Danny Masterson is on trial for three rapes | Stars

entertainment">Prosecutors state that the 44-year-old actor raped a 23-year-old woman in 2001 and did the same with two other women at various times in 2003. All rapes allegedly took place in his Los Angeles home. Masterson himself denies the allegations.

His lawyer Thomas Mesereau, who has worked for Michael Jackson and Bill Cosby in the past, said the charges against the actor are a result of the media hype surrounding #MeToo and political pressure to prosecute his client. He says he can prove that Masterson is innocent.

entertainment">The trial will resume on June 7. Masterson can wait for that at liberty, after he paid about 3 million euros. There is a prison sentence of 45 years hanging over his head.
