ACROSS, the Plug-in hybrid SUV that knows a lot about the Toyota RAV4

Suzuki led to the new ACROSS. It deals with of an SUV characterized by the presence of a Plug-in hybrid engine and 4×4 E-Four all-wheel drive. Its design appears very similar to that of another Japanese SUV in that this is the first model supplied by Toyota Motor Corporation under the collaboration agreement between Suzuki and Toyota. The agreement has already given rise to the cross-supply of models destined for important markets in different geographical areas. It will be possible to order in Europe from the autumn.

The look is clearly that of the latest generation Toyota RAV4 with the exception of the front that has been slightly revised. Among the equipment there are dual beam LED floodlights, which combine high beam, low beam and LED daytime running lights e 19-inch alloy wheels. The colors available are White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Sensual Red Mica, Gray Metallic and Dark Blue Mica.

No particular novelty even as regards the interior where it is present an infotainment with 9-inch display with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The strength of the Suzuki ACROSS is certainly its Plug-in hybrid powertrain capable of deliver a total of 225 kW. The electric motor is powered by a 18.1 KWh lithium-ion battery positioned under the floor. Autonomy in electric only mode is about 75 Km.

Available to the driver different driving modes. The all-wheel drive uses a second independent 40 kW electric motor on the rear axle. From a safety point of view, Suzuki ACROSS has some ADAS systems including the Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), which use a millimeter-wave radar and a monocular video camera.
