Accused of aggression by “Quotidien”, Francis Lalanne shouts “lies”

Francis Lalanne claimed that he did not give any blows to the journalists of the show “Quotidien”, who filed a complaint for assault against him.

“Quotidien” filed a complaint a few days ago against Francis Lalanne for assault on two of its journalists. The story of the two parties, on what happened this Saturday, June 5 at the Citizen University of Avignon between the three men, diverges. On the images of the interview broadcast by the Yann Barthès program, we see the journalist Paul Larrouturou questioning the artist on the notion of citizenship, before talking to him about Jean-Marie Bigard. This second question did not please the singer, who asked that the cameraman, Paul Bouffard, stop filming before getting up very angry and heading towards the camera. The images then become confused. We can hear Paul Bouffard saying to Francis Lalanne “don’t touch me, don’t touch me sir”.

Returning to Paris a few hours later, the two journalists went to Cochin hospital. Doctors diagnosed Paul Larrouturou with a sprained right wrist, who tried to intervene, and head trauma and post-traumatic tendonitis to the left shoulder to the cameraman, who lodged a complaint for “violence with a weapon”. In his complaint – of which AFP obtained a copy – he says he received a “violent punch in the face”, another blow to the head. “He grabbed my headset and then used it as a weapon,” he added.

“No blow was given”

“No blow has been given,” said Francis Lalanne, questioned on the set of “Do not touch my post Thursday. He declares that he has “testimonies” and “evidence” in his possession to defend himself. As for Paul Larrouturou, the singer says it was he who retained him. “It is not me who touches him, it is he who clings to me twice,” he added. On Saturday, when he got up to go to the cameraman, Francis Lalanne had only “one idea in mind” in his words: “that he erase the interview”. He also let it be known that he had called TMC and Bangumi, the “Quotidien” production company, to ban the broadcasting of the images shortly after the incident. “They simulated everything, including fear because there was no reason to be afraid since I did not raise my hand on them (…) They don’t give a damn about people these people -the”.

On C8, Francis Lalanne also claimed that the filing of a complaint was “fake news”. He takes as evidence a response from the Avignon prosecutor’s office, who informed his lawyer that no complaint “has been recorded by the journalist of” Quotidien “” against him. “This is a lie. One more, ”he added. What Francis Lalanne does not specify is that the “Quotidien” complaint was filed in Paris and not in Avignon.

Francis Lalanne appeals to the Journalistic and Mediation Ethics Council

After the altercation, the journalists “stayed quietly at the party, they put on a whole kind of staging where they pretended to leave, they came back. I have lots of images, lots of photos, stuff filmed with cellphones where we see them laughing among themselves, discussing what they are going to do, everything is recorded, they left quietly, they had no mark and two days later they go to Cochin, ”he continues. According to him, the two journalists would therefore have gone to have their injuries noted two days after the interview, but Paul Larrouturou had told him on Monday on the set of “Quotidien” that they had gone to the emergency room of the Paris hospital ” Saturday night ”, or a few hours after their meeting with Francis Lalanne.

The latter also lodged a complaint with the Council for Journalistic Ethics and Mediation (CDJM), considering that “the conduct” of the two journalists of “Quotidien” “offends journalism”.

The response of the lawyer of “Quotidien”

Bangumi’s lawyer, master Lorraine Gay, issued a statement Friday to thwart the singer’s “untruths” in the media on this case. “The Bangumi production company is surprised by the comments made by Mr. Francis Lalanne last night on the set of” TPMP “(C8) then, again, this morning on RMC as part of the program” Les grandes gueules “, chaining the untruths ”. The lawyer contradicts the words of Francis Lalanne by confirming that the three journalists of “Quotidien” present at the Citizen University of Avignon left the place “immediately after the attack of which they were victims and thus directly returned to Paris “.

Master Lorraine Gay adds that “despite the unfounded allegations of Mr. Francis Lalanne, they did indeed go to the medico-judicial units in order to ascertain the injuries and traumas linked to this altercation and his went to file a complaint with the police station of the XVIth arrondissement from Paris. It is therefore perfectly false to claim that they would benefit from certificates of convenience, just as it is absolutely ridiculous to claim that no complaint has been filed ”.
