Mittweida (Saxony) – AfD federal spokesman Tino Chrupalla (45) was injured in a serious traffic accident on the A4.
Apparently because of a strong thunderstorm, the driver (46) of Chrupalla’s service BMW had lost control of the vehicle shortly after the Chemnitz-Ost driveway. According to the police, the chauffeur had intended “to switch right again after overtaking.”
The politician was on his way home from Suhl in East Saxony. Apparently because of aquaplaning, the rear of the car broke out and hit the guardrails on the right and left several times. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
As Tino Chrupalla confirmed to BILD, his driver was not injured. He had suffered a significant splinter fracture in his left arm and had been hospitalized in the Mittweida hospital until Monday morning.
The police estimate the amount of property damage to be 52,000 euros.
