On New Year’s Eve, British teenager Olivia Kolek (14) was hit by a car near a train station in the town of Sandwell in the West Midland region of Great Britain. It reports Sky News.

Kolek died on the spot.

The teenager’s family is now making a statement after the daughter was killed in traffic.

The 39-year-old man has since been released pending forensic analyzes.

The police are now asking anyone who may have seen what happened, or something they think may be relevant after the death, to get in touch.

They also ask anyone who has camera footage on the dashboard and who was in the area by car on New Year’s Eve, to report to the police so they can review the material.

– This is really a terrible way to start the new year, and my thoughts go out to the girl’s family and friends, said spokeswoman and police sergeant Julie Lyman, when the police opened the investigation this weekend.
