Accident in St.Gallen SG: Several people were injured in three collisions

There were three accidents in the city of St.Gallen on Thursday. Three people were injured and some drivers were drunk.

On Thursday afternoon shortly before 12.30 p.m. there was a rear-end collision between a motor vehicle and a passenger car on St.Jakob-Strasse. A 26-year-old brought her car to a standstill to give the right of way to a person who wanted to cross the pedestrian crossing.

The 46-year-old motorcyclist behind her noticed this too late and crashed into the rear of the car. He slightly injured his arm and chest area. There was slight damage to property.

At 5.45 p.m. there was a rear-end collision between an e-bike and a car on Teufener Strasse. An 83-year-old woman drove her car on Teufener Strasse in the direction of Oberstrasse and had to stop completely due to the volume of traffic. The 45-year-old e-bike rider noticed this too late and crashed into the rear of the vehicle without braking.

She injured herself indefinitely and was taken to the emergency room. There they were found to have high levels of alcohol in their blood. There was minor property damage to both vehicles.

Shortly after 11:15 p.m. there was a self-accident on Oberstrasse. A 25-year-old rode a scooter down the Oberstrasse towards the center. At the intersection of Oberstrasse / Ahornstrasse, he fell for unknown reasons and injured his face in the process.

The paramedics brought him to the hospital for treatment. Since the police had classified him as incapable of driving, he also had to give a blood and urine sample.
