▲ On the 12th, the Jeju Autonomous Police began investigating the disappearance of a mobile speed camera installed near the Unam overpass on Jungsanganseo-ro, Seogwipo-si. Provided by Jeju Provincial Autonomous Police Force Was it because I really hated the police’s speeding crackdowns, or was it because I was caught in a speeding crackdown?

An absurd theft incident occurred in which a mobile speed camera installed on a road in the mid-mountainous region of Jeju disappeared.

According to the Seogwipo Police Station on the 19th, a report was received on the 13th that a mobile speed camera installed 600m east of the Unam overpass on Jungsanganseo-ro, Seogwipo-si had disappeared.

Jeju Island Autonomous Police installed a speed camera in an unmanned booth at around 7:38 pm on the 12th and went to retrieve it the next morning, but confirmed that it had disappeared. The iron door behind the unmanned booth had been damaged by some tool.

An autonomous police official explained, “The steel plate door behind the booth was forcibly torn off and damaged,” adding, “The maximum speed on this road is limited to 80 km/h both day and night.”

Police believe it is likely the work of someone who was dissatisfied with speeding regulations and are pursuing the suspect.
