A13 to Rotterdam open again, man died who provided assistance in the event of a breakdown | NOW

The A13 from The Hague to Rotterdam was temporarily closed on Tuesday morning due to a serious accident at Berkel en Rodenrijs. A 37-year-old resident of The Hague was killed when he presumably wanted to provide assistance to a motorist with a breakdown. The A13 towards Rotterdam was open again around 9:20 am.

According to Broadcaster West several cars were involved in the accident.

“Emergency services have done everything possible to save the man’s life,” police said. “That was no longer of use.”

Due to the investigation, the road was temporarily closed.

Traffic that wanted to drive from The Hague to Rotterdam was advised to detour via the A4 and A20. Problems also occurred on the A4 on Tuesday morning, due to a broken down car at Kethelplein.
