A young man was shot dead in broad daylight on Tuesday in Cavaillon (Vaucluse), in a district known to be a “point of deal”.
The 22-year-old victim was hit by gunfire in Doctor Ayme’s city. A neighborhood where drug traffickers have been waging a war for several months, according to Le Dauphiné Libéré.
According to the judicial police, seized of the investigation, the young man was found wounded by bullets on the sidewalk. “The authors left in a vehicle which was found set on fire in Caumont-sur-Durance”, about ten kilometers from the scene of the crime, on the road to Avignon.
The Vaucluse department had already been severely affected by drug trafficking in May when a police sergeant was shot dead, in the heart of Avignon, while he was intervening at a known point of sale.
