A tribute to romance at the Ducourneau Theatre in Agen

Saturday March 25 at 8:30 p.m., Mathias Malzieu and Daria Nelson will present “The Symphony of Passing Time” at the Dourneau Theater. A concert that will speak of love.

Love, its joys and its torments. On a piano background, with the rooftops of Paris as a backdrop, “La symphonie du temps qui passe” is an unprecedented concert event that marks a strong collaboration between Le Florida and the Théâtre Ducourneau, having worked together on this project. Imagined by Mathias Malzieu and Daria Nelson, the show is neither a musical, nor a record, nor a film. He is a mixture of all three. The 360° project perfectly illustrates the album “La symphonie du temps qui passe” released in October 2022 and inspired by a collection of poems written by Mathias Melzieu during confinement. For one evening, fanciful sets and cinematographic projections will invite the public into the universe of three artists: that of Mathias Malzieu, known for being the singer of the group Dyonisos, but also a writer and director, of his partner Daria Nelson, artist Ukrainian visual artist and photographer, and Le Turk, artist photographer and scenographer.

Love, a universal theme

Mathias and Daria deliver an intimate story in their show. They tell, through songs and poetry, their love story. From the doubts that germinate when the passion fades to the desire for a child fallen by a miscarriage, the couple exposes itself by offering a story with a universal character. Nourished by a great artistic culture, inspired by the verses of Cocteau, the romance of Serge Gaisbourg and Jane Birkin and the cinema of Méliès, the original, retro and lyrical staging will immerse the spectator between fiction and reality, in a joyful nostalgic atmosphere. . Accompanied by the composer, musician and arranger, Olivier Daviaud, the protagonists will indulge in a loving dialogue between dance and the reading of poems. The snow will even invite itself on stage to add a touch of magic.

An exciting show, like a collaboration that works between two major players in the cultural life of Agen, the Ducourneau Theater and the Florida. But a project that also marks the evolution of Mathias Malzieu, an artist followed by Le Florida for many years, who has come several times to perform in the emblematic concert hall. Twenty-five years later, Agen welcomes him again on March 25 at 8:30 p.m., but this time at the Théâtre Ducourneau, for a more intimate story. A unique event not to be missed. So, get your tickets, because there are still places left!
