The threatened opener
The opener, who half an hour before each race makes the journey in a quad to check that the route is fully marked and that the way is free everywhere, surprised them stretching a cable across a path, about six kilometers from the start. “There were about ten of them, maybe twelve, on foot, by bike and by motorbike,” says organizer Bertrand Harter. “They threatened our opener.
