A tragic accident of a motorcyclist in Boniowice
On Sunday, August 23, before 12 there was a tragic accident on DK 94 in Boniowice in the area of Tarnowskie Góry.
– Preliminary findings show that the 47-year-old woman driving the Fiat Seicento did not yield at the intersection of ul. Bytomska and Gliwicka with right of way for motorcyclists and led to a collision of vehicles – reports the subcommittee. Damian Ciecierski from the County Police Headquarters in Tarnowskie Góry.

Despite a quick resuscitation, the 42-year-old motorcyclist died. He was a resident of Lublinieckiego. Police officers work on the spot to explain the exact circumstances of the accident. “The road is impassable and the inconvenience will continue for at least three hours,” he says. Ciecierski.
Detours have been designated. In Wieszowa in the area of In Tarnowskie Góry, traffic goes to DK 78. Lorries coming from Pyskowice follow route 901, and cars in Karchowice – to Kamieniec.

Don’t overlook it
As the policeman admits, it is one of the most dangerous intersections in the region. Traffic incidents often occur here. In 2019, there were five accidents and 15 collisions in which nine people were injured. This year, only until mid-June, policemen recorded two accidents and eight collisions. Four people were injured.

The previous serious accident happened here on Wednesday, June 3. At that time, a 21-year-old Dacia driver driving along ul. Gliwicka collided with a 41-year-old Volkswagen driver coming from ul. Bytomska.
Similar accidents also took place in 2018. On June 20, 52-year-old Opel driver crashed into a Renault passenger car. On July 18, the 57-year-old Fiat driver did not give way to the Renault delivery van, and in September 2018, the 45-year-old Volkswagen driver did not give the right-of-way while driving on the minor road and collided with a correctly driving Opel, behind which a 63-year-old man was sitting. The vectra he was driving crashed into the city bus standing at the intersection. An Opel passenger was injured and taken to hospital by the air ambulance service.
