Swiss coach Rene Weiler, Al-Ahly’s first football team coach, made an inquiry to Al-Ahly’s board of directors before the upcoming Sun Downs showdown.
Feiler asked the Al-Ahly club, led by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, about the possibility of traveling to South Africa by private plane and not on a regular flight.
The Swiss coach fears that Al-Ahly players will experience fatigue, especially as the players are going through a difficult time in the middle of the season at the present time.
It is expected that Al-Ahly club’s management will consider Renee Fyler’s request and the final response to it.
Al-Ahly club is preparing to face its opponent, the South African Sun Downs team tomorrow, Saturday, at Cairo International Stadium as part of the 16-year-old African Champions League.
Al-Ahly will fly to South Africa on March 1, in preparation for the second leg match against the same team on March 7.
