A single copy of Petar Iliev’s book throughout Bulgaria. It’s taken

The publishing house deposited a copy in the National Library in the midst of the scandal, not 6 years ago

However, the version for there is shortened, and the NBU has it with 80 pages

Only a single copy of the book by lawyer Petar Iliev “The Competence of the National Assembly” can be occupied by a library. An inspection of “24 Chasa” found that the book, which caused a scandal due to allegations that Iliev had plagiarized from the works of his colleague – a lecturer at Sofia University, Assoc. Prof. Natalia Kiselova, is only in the library of New Bulgarian University, but she can not to be used.

Currently the only available piece

is readable

by prof.

Anthony

Todorov,

political scientist and lecturer at NBU, shows a reference to the library and he can use it until September 30. We called Todorov on the phone many times, but he did not answer until the number was closed.

A copy of the disputed book is also in the National Library, but cannot be taken by a reader. She is not in the repository, but is “on her way”, the library employees explain. Each newly published book must be deposited in the National Library in order to have it available, and in order to reach the repository, it takes months to be described and recorded.

The book was published in 2015 and on September 28 of the same year was received in the library of NBU, but it took 6 years for the publishing house “Nova Zvezda” to send it to the National Library. “The book has been deposited in the National Library for more than a month,” the publishing house explained to 24 Chasa, but they have no answer to the question why this is happening only this year.

Is an attempt being made to replace the edition with a new one, which lacks the controversial pages from the works of Assoc. Prof. Kiselova? This issue was first raised by the Facebook group Legal Madness, where it was signaled that the “Competence of the National Assembly” is now sold online with 80 pages less.

It turns out that there is a discrepancy in the number of pages in the only two copies in the libraries. The one in NBU has 698 pages, and the one deposited in the National Library – with 618. However, the rest of the information about the book coincides completely. The date of issue, paperback and even the price of BGN 29 are preserved.

The book is not

reissued,

they are categorical from the Nova Zvezda publishing house and explain that the circulations have been exhausted, so it cannot be bought online. The National Library is adamant that before a book is deposited and in order to “sweep away the traces” of possible plagiarism, it can be taken out of the warehouse and replaced with a new one. They explain that the submission of new editions is often delayed, and some publishers never send a copy.

The answer as to whether Iliev has plagiarized will come from the prosecutor’s office, as 24 Chasa reported yesterday. An investigation is already underway against him, and the signal was submitted by the chairman of BOEC Georgi Georgiev. The leader of ITN Slavi Trifonov also confirmed the ongoing inspection on Facebook. The national police requested detailed information about Iliev’s book from the publishing house, Trifonov explained and accepted the investigation as a personal attack. “For the National Police to be interested in a book, given that it could be a private matter, means that this is an order that totally wants to crush Petar Iliev, respectively to injure me,” Trifonov wrote and threatened to reach Iliev’s prosecutors and act in accordance with the law.

The party’s deputy chairman, Toshko Yordanov, blamed Democratic Bulgaria for the attacks on Iliev. On Twitter, he posted the photos of three supporters of the union – Kaloyan Georgiev, Dimitar Tachev and Kalin Angelov, and listed them as “the people who filed a complaint with the Faculty of Law at Sofia University against lawyer Petar Iliev.” They sent the signals to the Faculty of Law, Theology and Mathematics, but the names of the teachers did not turn out to be known. Thus, in addition to the prosecutor’s office, the ethics commission of Sofia University also works on the case. The procedure is already underway

the media will

be notified

for the final

solution,

explained by the university.

The plagiarism scandal surrounding Petar Iliev appeared in the media a little over a month ago, when the lawyer was introduced in the first draft cabinet of Slavi Trifonov’s party as Minister of Justice, and after Nikolay Vassilev’s resignation he was linked as Prime Minister. In the revised draft government of “There is such a people”, Iliev was appointed Minister of Interior, and the scandal around him became one of the reasons why the ITN cabinet did not receive support from the protest parties and the BSP.

Rumors of plagiarism have been circulating at the Faculty of Law at Sofia University for years. There Iliev teaches constitutional law, but none of his colleagues have approached the university for abuse. Although some noticed a verbatim transcription of parts of the doctorate of Assoc. Prof. Natalia Kiselova, without her being quoted, they explain in the group “Legal Madness”, which follows the case from the beginning.

Slavi, I don’t feel scared, answered Georgi Georgiev from BOEC

Georgi Georgiev from BOEC admitted that he had sent the signal for plagiarism against Petar Iliev to the prosecutor’s office.

The existence of the signal against the lawyer became clear from a post by Slavi Trifonov on Facebook.

In it, the leader of “There is such a people” announced that the deputy chief of the National Police, Atanas Ilkov, had requested information about Iliev’s book in a letter from the Nova Zvezda publishing house. The Ministry of Interior explained that they wanted this information because the prosecutor’s office ordered them, which requested an inspection on a signal.

“I will take care of it

to understand

who are you

or who are you who are able to burn a book, to ruin a man for his ambitions for power. And then everything is in order “, Trifonov threatened in his post.

“My signature is under the signal of BOEC for data and substantiated suspicions for committed crimes under Art. 172a and Art. 173, para. 1 of the Penal Code – plagiarism – theft of intellectual property, copyright infringement, committed by Petar Iliev – a lecturer at Sofia University and a candidate for Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, nominated by the ITN, “Georgi Georgiev replied again on Facebook.

The signal was submitted on August 9, 2021. and is published on the Internet, he explains. Georgiev recalls that in March he filed a plagiarism complaint against the Deputy Prime Minister in the third government of Boyko Borissov, Mariana Nikolova.

“Petar Iliev was offered to us as Deputy Prime Minister for Security and Minister of Interior. You offered it, Slavi. I am not at all interested in your relations and who is loyal to whom, as a citizen and as a representative of the most active anti-corruption organization in Bulgaria, I am interested in whether this person has committed the crimes for which data were disclosed or not. The first means that he is unworthy to occupy the position for which he was offered, and that he would have heavy dependencies if he was elected or did not perform them and it is good to be proved unconditionally “, Georgiev explains in his answer to Trifonov.

We are not “crushing” anyone, Slavi, we are just looking for the truth! Often in a mafia state, the truth is ugly, but that doesn’t make it any less true. And if you were interested in the truth, you would ask for a check yourself, instead of roaring on social media. Or are you untouchable and no one has the right to dig into your dirty shirts, or to ask, or to ask for a check? But in this country there are “questioners”, if you don’t understand, who are not afraid to ask, no matter who is standing opposite.

And what an “order” is chasing you, come down to earth, enter the real world! Safe from self-forgotten “leaders” who have lost touch with reality, where they think that the whole world revolves around them and they are shaken by paranoia! Nobody wants to “hurt” you, “you hurt yourself”, adds Georgiev.

“Don’t scare me with the rule of law.”

I do not want to do it

on the face

and on scary. I am tired and bored of such “horrors”, Georgi Georgiev wrote at the end of his letter.

And tell Petar Iliev that the phrase “fear shakes the pigsty” is mine, I allow him to use it if he quotes the author, he added sarcastically.
