A series of forced pick-up dramas led to Nikita Mirzani being arrested

Jakarta

Artis Nikita Mirzani was arrested by the police at a shopping center in the Senayan area, South Jakarta. This arrest came after a failed forced pick-up drama.

As known, Nikita Mirzani reported on charges of defamation through ITE due to a post on his Insta Story Instagram account. He was reported by Dito Mahendra (DM).

“The context regarding the report by Brother DM according to the LP is the Electronic Transaction Information Law, where the object of reporting is the content on Mrs. Nikita’s Insta Story,” said Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Shinto Silitonga, Wednesday (15/6).

Forced Pick Up at Nikita Mirzani’s House

On June 15, 2022, the police were about to forcibly pick up Nikita Mirzani at his house. The pick-up was carried out early in the morning by the police from the Serang City Police. Nikita also had time to video the police who came to his house.

Shinto said the forced pick-up was carried out after Nikita Mirzani was often absent from the examination agenda. According to the law, the police then went to Nikita’s house in an attempt to pick her up.

“In accordance with the criminal procedure law, the investigator came to NM’s residence and asked NM to cooperate and join the investigators to give information in front of the investigators,” said Shinto.

Shinto said the forced pick-up was taken through a clear legal procedure. Nikita is known to always be absent when asked to be questioned by the police in the investigation process.

“Forced efforts were made against NM because NM was absent in several official summons from investigators,” explained Shinto.

In addition, Shinto said that the coercive efforts carried out by his party were in accordance with the procedure. He also denied that police officers broke into Nikita Mirzani’s house.

“It is not true that NM said the police entered the house without permission because the police position from this morning until now is still in front of the fence of NM’s house,” he said.

“The identity of the investigator who came to NM’s house is clear, the warrant is also clear, the purpose of his arrival is clear, the case is also clear. Therefore, as a law-abiding citizen, NM cooperates with investigators,” added Shinto.

Police fail to pick up Nikita

Shinto Silitonga said the police decided to return home from Nikita Mirzani’s residence in the afternoon.

“Investigators have decided to return to the Serkot (Serang Kota) Police,” Shinto said when contacted on Wednesday (15/6/2022).

Shinto said the police decided to go home at 12:45 WIB. He said that his party had tried to carry out the forced pick-up in a persuasive manner.

“In principle, investigators’ activities at NM’s house are persuasive for investigative services,” he said.
