A section of the CGT publishes a homophobic montage featuring Laurent Berger (CFDT) and Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux (Medef)

It was an unexpected event in the war between the CGT and the CFDT over the Renault factory in Sandouville (Seine-Maritime). Thursday, May 7, the CGT had obtained the closure of the site, the Havre court finding that the health protocol validated by the management, the CFDT, CFE-CGC and FO, was insufficient to guarantee the protection of employees against Covid-19. A position judged “Irresponsible” by the secretary general of the CFDT, Laurent Berger. “The reality is that the plant will remain closed on Monday and 700 workers will be sent home. It’s not a service to workers ”, lamented Mr. Berger.

Two days later, Saturday, May 9, appeared on the Twitter account of the Info-Com ‘section, responsible for defending workers in the information and communication sector, a montage, deleted the next day due to its homophobic character. It showed the secretary general of the CFDT, Laurent Berger, and the president of the Medef, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, dressed in black leather clothes, with a harness and wearing a dog collar, posing on a sofa, under the title “Sado and Maso, a Medefdt production”.

CGT central condemns assembly

“These posters are ignoble. They are an insult to all employees and agents who vote for the CFDT, as well as for its members ”, the CFDT estimated in a statement published on Sunday, condemning “With the greatest firmness” this campaign. “Union disputes do not justify any slanderous act against people, no degrading attack and no homophobic message”, added the confederation.

The assembly was also condemned “Without any reservation” by the central CGT, in a tweet, Sunday, saying that “This type of communication only discredits union action”.
