33 years after the first film “A Prince in New York”, Eddie Murphy is returning to his role for a sequel initially slated for theaters but finally sent to Amazon Prime Video. A new trailer reveals more about the next adventures of Prince Akeem.
A Prince in New York 2 : the sequel to a cult film from the 80’s
We take the same and we start again, In the casting, nevertheless. A Prince in New York 2 necessarily recalls Eddie Murphy in the main role, as well as James Earl Jones and Arsenio Hall. At least that was needed for this sequel which comes several decades after the original. A comedy by John Landis which followed Prince Akeem of Zamunda. While he must become the new king of Zamunda, the character played by Eddie Murphy decided to fly once again to the United States to meet her son. He intends to establish contacts with him to ensure that he becomes his future heir. But their return together to Zamunda will cause funny situations. Especially with Lavelle’s mom in the middle.

A Prince in New York 2 is directed by Craig Brewer. He has previously shot the film with Eddie Murphy Dolemite Is My Name streamed on Netflix. It is also on a platform that this sequel ends. If it was first planned for the cinema, Amazon Prime Video got their hands on it. The planned release March 5th approach and a brand new trailer just released.
We know fully what to expect from the previous preview and it delivers its share of new shots. Good vibes emerge from the whole, A Prince in New York 2 wanting in the vein of the previous section. With humor, characters with strong characters and always a part of reflection. This time, it will be about the place of women, since Akeem’s daughter aspired to claim the throne.
