Nice from Ligue 1 have reportedly teamed up with Manchester United to show interest in Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris this summer.
the 34-year-old World Cup champion will enter the last year of the contract in Spurs this summer. That has led to rumors that Daniel Levy will be looking to cash in on the plug, rather than lose it for nothing in 2022.
Lloris moved to North London from Lyon in 2012 but has so far failed to win a trophy at Tottenham. However, all that could change on April 25, when Spurs take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.
But in terms of Lloris’ long-term future, it looks like he will be away from Spurs, with José Mourinho already lining up a replacement.
Lille’s shooting stopper Mike Maignan is being linked with a summer trade to Spurs for a fee of around 30 million euros.
Indeed, L’Equipe claims that the 25-year-old will move to Tottenham and become their new number one.
It would mean the end of a nine-year stint for Lloris at the Spurs. During that time he has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, although his form has been on the decline in recent seasons.
United were surprisingly linked to a veteran’s move in Tuesday edition of Euro Paper Talk.
They are expected to pass on David de Gea this summer, but they clearly want an experienced hand alongside Dean Henderson.
However, the Daily Telegraph claims that Nice is also interested in bringing Lloris back to France.
The Spurs captain actually began his club career in Nice, moving up through their youth ranks before heading to Lyon.
The report claims that Nice sees the World Cup winner as a prominent signing and is desperate to land his former employee.
Bale clarifies his future plans
Tottenham loan officer Gareth Bale has revealed that he plans to return to Real Madrid next season.

It is understood that Mourinho and Tottenham are keen to sign Bale permanently.
