The famous “cheap market” there, as it is known on forums and social networks in our country, continues in full force. Due to the low but stable exchange rate of the Turkish lira, most goods in our southeastern neighbor are really cheaper even during the current economic crisis.
For example, quality olive oil, which costs an average of about BGN 15 in Bulgarian stores, can be found for BGN 5-7. The prices of fruits and vegetables are also almost half, and well-known over-the-counter drugs are also known in Bulgaria. spring allergy can be bought half as cheap – if here a pack of standard antihistamines for allergies is about BGN 10, then in Edirne it costs the equivalent of BGN 4.50.
