The gold price in Egypt fell during the past week’s trading, to lose a gram 5 pounds today, Friday 17-1-2020, compared to last Friday’s prices.
Club Naguib, Secretary General of the Gold Division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, told Masrawy that the price of a 21-gram gold went down today to about 683 pounds compared to 688 pounds last Friday.
The price of a gram of 18 carat gold has also decreased to about 585 pounds, the price of a 24-gram gram is about 780.6 pounds, and the price of a pound of gold has reached 5464 pounds.
Globally, according to Reuters news agency, the yellow metal is heading for its biggest weekly decline in two months, while the long-awaited one-stage trade agreement between the United States and China has fueled risk appetite.
And gold rose in immediate transactions 0.2% to $ 1555.14 an ounce by 0602 GMT, heading towards a decrease on a weekly basis by 0.4%, the largest since the week ending on the eighth of last November.
US gold futures rose 0.4% to $ 1556.90.
