The man is a resident of Møre og Romsdal. The relatives have been notified, the police say.
– We will interrogate those who were on the boat and map out who has seen what, says police attorney Ole Andreas Aftret to Adresseavisen.
The work accident took place at Salmar’s plant at Kverva. The man was squeezed between a boat and the quay. The police were notified at 15.20.
The man was first described as seriously injured and later as critically injured before he was confirmed dead by AMK. The man is autopsied at St. Olav’s hospital.
The police are working to map the course of events and whether anything criminal has happened.
– So far, there is no indication that anything criminal has happened in connection with the incident. We will look at whether there is a basis for opening a criminal case against individuals or companies, says Aftret.
