The National Police arrested a 27-year-old man last morning in Madrid who was strangling his partner at the time of the arrival of the agents in a flat in the Carabanchel district, reports the Superior Headquarters.
After receiving an alert call that a violent discussion was taking place in a house at 1.15 this Saturday, the patrol went to the home, located on Jabirú Street, in the Vista Alegre neighborhood.
When agents entered the home they found the 27-year-old man, of Honduran nationality, on top of the 28-year-old woman, of the same nationality, with his hands on his neck trying to strangle her.
The police reduced the attacker and released the woman, who had traces of blood on her body. There was also in another room. Health workers assisted the woman with the blow to the nose, with a possible fracture of the nasal bone. They also detected bruises from previous days. She was transferred by ambulance to the Gómez Ulla Hospital in a mild condition, said a spokesperson for the Community of Madrid Emergencies.
The man, who has another arrest for gender violence on another couple and a restraining order regarding her, will go to court in the next few hours, accused of attempted murder.
