Greek journalist and well-known opponent of measures to promote vaccination, George Tragas, has died from COVID-19, Proto Tema reported, quoted by BTA.

Tragas died at the age of 72 from complications following COVID-19 infection. A statement from Athens’ Sotiria Hospital said he had not been vaccinated.

In February 2021, Tragas announced the creation of a political party called the Free People. The party’s position says that “the obligation to vaccinate, as is the case in Greece with indirect and direct extortion and various forms of threat, is a modern tyranny and affects the human rights and ethics of medical science.”
