A junior miracle? A young Czech man under siege by Olympic winners, Davidová and Moravec also reached the podium

In Sweden, Czech biathletes are preparing for the start of an uncertain season. Idre chose the site of Sjusjoen in Norway, where quarantine was threatened, and the preparatory races with the Swedes and representatives of ten other countries came in handy.

Only 20-year-old Mikyska even attacked the victory. After the second flawless item he led, after the third zero he was six seconds behind the home team Sebastian Samuelsson.

The biathlon world championship will take place in the Czech Republic for the second time!

The competition of really top fighters was not big, but in the end he ended up on the podium in the siege of the Olympic winners – the third was Jesper Nelin in the end. So did the Czech young man say about the nomination for the first races of the World Championships?

“I’m surprised,” Mikyska expressed joy for biatlon.cz after a miraculous second place for him. “I’m mainly happy with the shooting, one mistake in the four-item race is a very good balance. I don’t even know what I made a mistake in, I wanted to leave quickly. At the same time, I felt very good about running. I think it’s a good start to the season, “he said for the federal website.

The final stand was shot by a young Czech at a great pace, but unfortunately he did not hit the fifth target. “It turned out well how nervous I was before the shooting. I was afraid I would leave four there, for example, “Mikyska described.

Current tax. Seven weeks away? I wouldn’t see anyone close anyway, the Czech biathlete knows

He eventually lost half a minute to the victorious Samuelsson, who missed three targets. About a minute back was Nelin.

Davidová achieved the best running time in both races, in Saturday’s sprint it was enough for her in third place with two mistakes. She finished eighth with seven minutes a day later.

“Conditions at the shooting range were more difficult than on Saturday. The fog was falling and it was blowing. But I must say that I was blown more only on the first stand. The wind took two blows to me and I fought three. Otherwise, I think it was my mistakes and the wind didn’t have much to do with them, “David evaluated the second race.

The event of the weekend in Idra was the biathlon debut of the Olympic cross-country skier Stina Nilsson. In the first race with three mistakes he finished 11th, in the second 27th with ten minutes.

The Czech team will stay in Idra next week and then move to Kontiolahti. “Now we are waiting for longer, slower trainings,” said Davidová, who will head to the house on November 20 with a few other representatives.
