There are people in history whose services and deeds for the people are unstoppable and unrepeatable. People with such high human qualities are remembered for their incredible hard work, selfless kindness, innate talent, knowledge and rare abilities. One of these people is a humanitarian, outstanding public figure, academician, ophthalmologist-scientist Mrs. Zarifa Aliyeva.

Today is Zarifa Aliyeva’s memorial day. Ms. Zarifa has healed several eyes during many years of activity. By performing the most difficult and complex tasks, he illuminated the dark world of the sighted or completely blind. It was the quality of this high humanity that came not only from knowledge and education, but from genes, from the family in which he grew up. The family and the environment in which academician Zarifa Aliyeva was born and grew up played a big role in her future destiny and actions. Because he continued on the path of his father, an outstanding statesman and scientist, scientist-educator, Professor Aziz Aliyev. Aziz Aliyev, whose unparalleled services in the development of Azerbaijan’s health care system, is one of our people who has won deep sympathy and respect for those around him with his high intelligence. A. Aliyev is a strong personality with strong will and great self-discipline, but every complex stage of his life is considered as a school of life for his children. It goes without saying that Mrs. Zarifa, who grew up in such a family, was always characterized by loyalty, elegance, and love for people. Intellectual belonging to the family, hard work, sincerity, love for the native hearth, the people and the Motherland were in an important place in his life. He was an academician who greatly contributed to the development of Azerbaijani medical science. Philosophy of life, spiritual world, services in the development of the science of ophthalmology are rich and diverse. Zarifa Aliyeva, who made the knowledge of Azerbaijani ophthalmology at the world level, was an innovative scientist who had her own method of treatment. As a scientist, his use of effective treatment methods against trachoma eye disease, which damages the eye and even causes total blindness, has led to a revolutionary change in this field. Because at that time, the fight against this disease was important not only for the science of ophthalmology, but also for the health care system as a whole. As a result of scientific research, Z. Aliyeva published several monographs, including “Occupational pathology of the eye in tire production”, “Ophthalmology associated with chronic iodine alcoholism”, “Prevention of eye diseases career in the iodine industry”. Several scientific works of the scientist are devoted to the detection and treatment of malignant tumors in the organ of vision. Z. Aliyeva’s monographs on dactriology – “Physiology of watering eyes”, “Treatment of watering eyes with modern surgical techniques” attracted the attention of not only ophthalmologists, but also psychiatrists. Mrs. Zarifa Aliyeva is one of the authors of the basic book “Therapeutic Ophthalmology”. This book remains a desk book for all ophthalmologists. At the same time, the famous ophthalmologist was the author and co-author of about 150 scientific works, 12 monographs, textbooks and teaching aids, 1 technique, 12 efficiency recommendations. Zang’s scientific activities have been highly regarded. In 1981, Professor Zarifa Aliyeva received the highest award in the world of ophthalmology for her significant contribution to the development of ophthalmology – her scientific research in the field of occupational pathology of the organ of vision – the award named after Academician MI Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR. In this sense, the academic performance of Zarifa Aliyeva as a scientist covers a great level in the history of Azerbaijani medical science. Zarifa Aliyeva has had outstanding services not only in scientific and educational activities, but also in the training of qualified young scientists and ophthalmologists. As a result of Zarifa Aliyeva teaching rich life experience to her students and treating them with special attention and care, the workers trained by her are the guardians of the health of our people today. Academician Zarifa Aliyeva has been a member of the Peace Protection Committee, Azerbaijan Association “Bilik”, Presidium of the Scientific Association of Ophthalmologists, and the editorial board of the magazine “Ophthalmology News” indeed required a lot of energy, but it was it is typical for the nature of this outstanding ophthalmologist. At the same time, Mrs. Zarifa loved literature and music, she had knowledge in the field of literature, art, especially fine art, and photography. In this sense, Zarifa Aliyeva worked for her people all her life as a doctor, scientist and citizen. Zarifa Aliyeva was a lifelong loyal companion, faithful friend and trusted companion of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of the modern, independent state of Azerbaijan. Even in difficult and dangerous times, Zarifa Aliyeva did not leave her lifelong companion, the great leader Heydar Aliyev, even for a moment, she became his support. Academician Zarifa Aliyeva was a woman extremely devoted to her family, a wonderful mother. She combined her motherly mission with her lover’s career. One of his greatest services to the people is his children, whom he raised and brought up to perfection. President Ilham Aiyev succeeded in liberating our territories from the enemy and restoring historical justice by ending the 30-year longing for land, the most cherished dream of the Azerbaijani people. Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar Ilham Aliyev remembered the loving memory of his academic mother Zarifa Aliyeva with great respect and honor and said “My mother was a true scientist. He tried to learn all the intricacies of medicine. At the same time, he found time to deal with me and Seville, to educate and raise us as worthy citizens of Azerbaijan. He is always in my heart.” yap.az
