A France 2 TV movie filmed in Chartres

Cameramen, stage managers and sound engineers are busy in the brasserie, where several scenes from a TV movie will soon be shown on France 2 are shot.

In an interweaving of poles, lighting and cameras, the production team fine-tunes the final preparations.

Several scenes from Thunderclap in a Cloudless Sky, written and directed by Catherine Klein, with the participation of France Télévisions, are shot in sets well known to the Chartrains.

The plot is that of a country doctor with a peaceful daily life, who will experience a violent descent into hell preventing him from exercising his profession. Evoking themes such as depression, family and overwork, the TV movie follows the evolution of a seemingly happy man, allowing himself to be overcome by a frustrating daily life, to the point of having to reassess his relationship with others, relatives and patients included. .

Serge Szwarcbart, the general manager of the film explains:

“The plot takes place in Senonches, but we were looking for a bar, in a slightly more dynamic town, to contrast with the small town side. We went to several bars in the city and L’Annexe is the one that interested us the most ”

A second scene takes place in the Beauce capital, in a city where the main character can go incognito. “The doctor will look for antidepressants in a pharmacy where no one knows him,” says the manager. The team chose to shoot at the Town Hall Pharmacy.

A film that echoes the news

Catherine Klein, the director, was keen to stage a subject she knows well. “Her father was a pharmacist, she is from the countryside and she wanted to echo a subject close to her experience,” explains Serge Szwarcbart.

“It is also a film that resonates with current events, with the issue of medical deserts and the overwork of doctors and nursing staff. “
