ADAPTATION. The grand final of the super-bowl is a golden opportunity for all American distributors to present the trailers of their big upcoming cinema releases. Among the latter: the film “OLD” which will be released this summer, adapted from a comic book by Pierre-Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters.
Adaptation of Sand castle, the disturbing comic strip Pierre-Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters, OLD is a major horror production marking the director’s return to the big screen M. Nyght Shyamalan. The book was offered to the director of Sixth Sense For Fathers’ Day. Seized by his words, he decided to adapt it into what is probably one of the most anticipated genre films of 2021.
As a reminder, Sand castle is a disconcerting fable in which we are going to follow the fate of thirteen people, prisoners of a beach that cannot be left. People are struck by a process of premature aging. Between resilience and panic, how will the interested parties understand the matter? A fantastic and social story reminiscent of Bunuel’s cinema, Shymalan seems rather to have chosen to make a total and assumed horror film… Will he still be able to retain the strengths of the initial support? Answer this summer.
