A doctor reveals a common mistake when drinking tea

Dr. Olga Alexandrova, an internal medicine specialist, revealed that tea without sugar and without other sweeteners is more beneficial to health.

She also indicated, in an interview with the Russian “Prime” news agency, that tea without sugar and other sweeteners can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and even cancer.

She revealed that her words apply to all types of tea, warning against herbal tea.

According to her, tea is not attributed to drinks that significantly affect health, but to those that have a specific positive effect. Pointing out that tea contains biologically active substances such as catechins, antioxidants, volatile oils, amino acids, vitamins B1, B2, P, PP, iron, magnesium, calcium and caffeine.

She also explained that consuming 3 cups of green tea per day leads to a lower risk of prostate cancer, endometrial cancer, cardiovascular disease, as well as severe cases of stroke and myocardial infarction.

And she added that black tea positively affects health as well, as it reduces the risk of cognitive impairment and osteoporosis in the elderly.

As for herbal tea, it should be drunk with caution, because some of it negatively affects the body.

It is mentioned that all the positive effects of tea are usually formed when it is without sugar, sweeteners or cream.
