Egypt is preparing to host a new event at the level of the African continent, between the first football team of Al-Ahly club, and its counterpart, Nahdet Berkane of Morocco, at the end of the African Super, on the tenth of December, as scheduled so far.
The match is facing a crisis at the present time, due to the date and location of the African Super match between Al-Ahly and the Moroccan Berkane renaissance, who won the African Confederation Cup at the expense of Pyramids.
Ketabi Al-Hussein, the official spokesman for the Moroccan club Nahdet Berkane, said in televised statements on the Al-Allaib program broadcast on MBC Egypt, that until now, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has not informed them of the date of the African Super Match.
He pointed out that the CAF is committed to a contract with the Qatar Football Association, which provides for the establishment of the Egyptian Super Cup in Doha for three consecutive seasons.
He revealed that this contract is the main reason behind Nahdet Berkane’s adherence to holding the match in Qatar, especially since Zamalek fought the African Super Cup last season with Tunisia’s Esperance in Doha.
