A camp with mobile homes is to be built by Lake Most. There will also be a view of the city

A camp should be set up on the south-western slopes of Lake Most. The project of the state enterprise Palivový kombinat Ústí, which is the administrator of the area, envisages this. The recreation center is supposed to take up space at the filling object of the lake, where the main gatehouse is today. According to the administrator, the area of this area is approximately 6 hectares and is directly connected to the recreational zone with the main beach on the southern slopes. The campsite should have a parking space of approximately 40 motor homes, for 20 mobile homes (cottages) and for camping. “The issue of operation is currently being resolved,” Hana Volfová, a spokeswoman for the Ústí Fuel Combine, told Deník.

Another project is the intended construction of a prospect. This plan is from last October and places the view on the northern slope of the lake by the newly opened road Mariánské Radčice. The company wants to take advantage of the fact that the place has a beautiful view of the lake and the entire city of Most, including Hněvín Castle and the moved church. “The selected place is elevated in itself, so it would not be a lookout tower, but a steel footbridge that would lead to the open space towards the lake. Part of the view would also be a place for sitting and parking, “the spokeswoman specified.

The fuel plant Ústí and the town of Most pointed out that they want to ensure further development of the lake locality, and therefore it is currently a matter of preparing a landscape-urban planning and architectural competition for Lake Most. The aim is to obtain a quality solution from expert teams from the Czech Republic or abroad, as in the case of Ústí nad Labem’s Milada lake, where the competition began.

It is not allowed to walk to the Most water for a few more weeks, because the preparation for the start of operation is being completed. Due to the risk of spreading coronavirus, Lake Most will be open to the public on September 12 without a ceremony. “Everything will take place only in a intimate atmosphere, with a symbolic ribbon-cutting and without an accompanying program,” said the mayor of Most, Jan Paparega.

The first visitors to the lake will find beaches for recreation, changing rooms, tables for table tennis, three beach volleyball courts and so far only temporary sanitary facilities with mobile toilets. The town hall promises that from next season the services will be expanded and there will be a fast food stand, a permanent bathroom, a caretaker’s building and facilities for cyclists. It is also expected that the safety of vacationers will be supervised by the city police and the water rescue service.

From September 12, he will be able to swim and boat in Lake Most. “However, as Lake Most is a non-flowing lake, which has no natural inflow or outflow, there is a strict ban on the use of all types of motor vessels, including jet skis,” said a spokeswoman for the Ústí Fuel Combine.

The administrator will open the entire territory of Lake Most to the public on September 12, but construction work may still be completed in some places. Places will be marked with information signs. In these places, vacationers must be careful and respect the rules.

The lake was created by flooding the former Ležáky coal quarry. Last year, the fuel plant asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade for an opinion on a proposal to abolish the mining area. The Ministry supported the plan and recommended the abolition of the mining area also because it is not possible to assume the economical extraction of the remaining small reserves of brown coal. In connection with the abolition of the mining area, the lake administrator has requested the opinions of the other authorities and organizations concerned and is now awaiting their comments.
