A 46-year-old man vaccinated, tested negative for COVID, with symptoms of pneumonia died after waiting 12 hours in the courtyard of the Galati County Hospital and was walked for 2 days between hospitals. An investigation is now underway

An investigation was started at the County Emergency Hospital “St. Andrei ”Galaţi after a woman complained that her husband died of pneumonia, in the medical unit, on November 2, because he was not hospitalized in time. The woman said that her husband was 46 years old, was vaccinated against COVID-19 with the complete scheme and had a simple pneumonia, but the doctors from the County Hospital refused to treat him in time, walking him between hospitals and putting him to wait in the hospital yard in the cold for 12 hours, Rador reports.

“On October 29, my husband complained of back pain. Nothing serious or complicated, because he was working in construction and his back hurt from carrying. Until then, my husband had no health problems, he had been vaccinated against COVID since the summer, with a complete schedule. The next day, Saturday, I called the ambulance and told them my husband was not feeling well. I told them that his back hurt, that he had a little fever and that I had a quick test, which came back negative on COVID-19. Rescuers said a rescue would come, but in two days, because there are so many requests. When I heard about it for two days, I took a taxi and went with my husband to the Galati County Hospital. When the containers saw us, they asked us why we came. The husband explained the symptoms to them, but the containers said they were only treating COVID-19. We went to UPU, but the girls there told us that no doctor could see him until he was tested for COVID-19.. And from there they told us to go home and wait for the rescue to come and test him in two days. In the evening, however, her husband felt even worse. On Sunday morning, the rescue came, measured her oxygen saturation and said she was a little small and had to go to the hospital. He was tested, by the ambulance, and when he arrived at the hospital, but otherwise no one gave him any treatment. He arrived at the County Hospital again, in the morning, at 8.30 am “, the wife of the deceased man told the journalists.

She showed that the man was kept waiting for the PCR test result outside in the hospital yard in the cold for about 12 hours, although he had a fever, and as a result of this exposure his condition worsened considerably, but the next day the doctors began to walk him between the hospitals, and on Tuesday morning he died.

“He waited until evening, at 20.00, for the result of the PCR test, outside, in the hospital yard. They let him sit on the bench in the cold, even though he had a fever. In the evening, because no one helped him in any way, he came home again, on his own two feet, with his own signature. At 20.00, he could no longer speak, his mouth was clenched by the cold. All this time, they only took blood tests and had an x-ray of his lungs. He came home, he was very sick all night, and on Monday morning the rescue came again, took him to the hospital, where they put him in a container and put an oxygen mask in his mouth. In the meantime, the PCR test had also failed. Only on Monday afternoon did he see an internist, who said that he should be transferred to the TB Hospital, because he has low saturation. They walked him in vain to TB, where he was refused, because they did not have high oxygen concentrators. He was sent back to the County Hospital, where he waited a few more hours. It wasn’t until the evening that he called me and told me he was transferring him to ATI. It got serious because of them, because he came to the hospital on Friday, but they didn’t want to look at him and give him treatment. Unfortunately, the misfortune happened on Tuesday morning and I was told that my husband had died. He was a man without health problems, I repeat. I also want to know why in the case of a man who has a chance at life, no doctor looks at him “, said the wife of the deceased man.

The woman filed a complaint with the secretariat of the County Hospital.

The Galati Ambulance Service confirmed that it transported the man twice from home to the county hospital, then to the TB hospital and back to the county hospital.

“It is about a 46-year-old patient vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine, the second dose was in August, for which we were asked to intervene for signs of flu, fever, cough. The crew arrived on the scene, found it with viral impregnation, the rapid antigenic test was negative. He was transported to the County Hospital, to the Emergency Service. That on October 31st. Subsequently, on November 1, he was again transported from home to the hospital, with stable blood pressure and pulse, and on November 1, in the afternoon, he was transported to the TB Hospital for a specialist consultation and then he was transported. back to the Emergency Hospital “, said Dr. Mihai Polinschi, medical director of the Galati County Ambulance Service, quoted by monitoruldegalati.ro.

The doctors from the TB Hospital explain why they could not receive him and sent him back to the County.

“The patient presented on November 1, at 5.40 pm, in our hospital, sent by the County Hospital, with low saturation, with febrile syndrome with altered general condition. He had also presented himself on October 31 at the County Hospital, where he had had a very good saturation, now he had a bad saturation, an altered general condition. The radiological image is suitable for severe differential diagnoses considering the evolution in 24 hours. The rapid antigen test was negative. He was returned for specialized investigations and multidisciplinary consultations to the County Hospital“, Said Dr. Claudia Scorpan, spokesperson, TB Hospital Galati.

The wife of the man who died on November 2 in the morning in the ATI section of the County Pneumonia Hospital filed a complaint.

Regarding the issues notified in the complaint submitted to the secretariat of the unit, verifications have already started and the results will be communicated to the petitioner within the legal term.“, Stated Dr. Violeta Şapira, the spokesperson of the Galaţi Emergency Hospital, according to monitoruldegalati.ro.
