An attraction at the Walt Disney World theme park in Orlando suffered a breakdown on Monday, August 3, which put the lives of its passengers at risk, as a young woman who experienced the minutes of anguish in the first person told on Twitter.
The drama happened at the attraction Splash Mountain, located in the state of Florida, United States, when it saw its boat slowly sinking.
In total there were five people on top of the boat, and when they were reaching the final leg of the attraction, people reacted immediately and disembarked to get to safety. In a few seconds, the water completely covered the “trunk”.
“We got out of the boat because it was sinking while we were trapped there, and the Disney World employee decided to tell us that we should have stayed in the boat, but it sank as soon as we got out …” Young Skyelar wrote on her Twitter account Ingersoll (@skyelaringrsoll), along with a video showing what was happening.

In the video, Skylar Ingersoll is heard yelling, “Do you see the boat?” to the person who makes the call for attention, who answers: “Yes, I understand it, but it is a safety hazard,” says the employee after those affected come down from the game.
Speaking to the Orlando Hols newspaper, the 20-year-old from Los Angeles, California, said it was the first time she had visited the Florida park. “We were almost at the end of the trip. We started to notice that the water was starting to enter the boat after the final fall, ”recalled Skyelar. “In the end, the log stopped and got stuck. We waited a while, but it began to sink and fill with water. That was when we jumped. As soon as we got out, the whole log was practically submerged under water ”.
Disney announced a while ago the remodeling of the attraction, located in Magic Kingdom, to adapt it to the universe of Tiana, the company’s first African-American princess.
The accident at the park comes a month after Disney announced plans to reinvent Splash Mountain to adapt it to passages from the 2009 film The Princess and the Frog, a project the company had been working on for more than a year.
